Decent Wed, Cashing the #1 play OK State, lost the top total (WVU) and smaller plays, Won Va Tech easily, pushed the OKC over thanks to a bum kicker. Ended on a good note with OK State at least.

Carried over from yesterday's thread:

For tomorrow (Thursday), went ahead and played SMU. BC has one of the worst Front 7's in the nation and one of the worst pass Defenses in the country. Even without Stone, SMU looked decent with Jennings. Even with this Fenway bowl being a De-facto home game for BC, they didn't do that great at home and i dont think their fans will make much a difference here. Give me the Ponies

SMU-9.5-118 (Top play)
&
A scarlet Knights team at virtually full-strength vs a Canes team that is not. I'm going with Rutgers.

Rutgers ML-126

More later. GL all.

not at all. this may actually favor SMU. SMU can run the ball, and BC's front 7 is awful. Could be a result like yesterday. Also rain games typically favor more scoring for teams like SMU/Va tech (yesterday), so many people were yapping yesterday would be "low scoring." Va tech almost got the over themselves. I could see a scenario much like yesterday's game but possibly with less BC scoring. Just my .2 cents, FWIW

That's actually a good perspective. And remember....Tulane had a pretty good defense too.

yes they did! and got lit up 2nd half....i always think back to when I played and esp in 2000 when we (ECU) played Paul Pasqualani''s ranked Syracuse team with future NFL players (Dwight Freeney) and others. We played during a tropical storm Dennis with 40mph winds and heavy rain. Everyone even ESPN was expecting a ground and run game, with LOW scoring. Our coach Steve Logan had us practicing with slick/wet balls all week. We came out throwing 40-50 posts and out routes with David Garrard to Keith Stokes and Marcellus Harris and our WR corps....we crushed them 34-17 in the pouring rain and wind and everyone was shocked. David (AKA Beer Truck) had several 35+ yard passes, and 2 40 yard td passes....just droppin it in receivers hands....it was fun being on the sidelines watching that one and watching him work. When people tell me rain is auto under I LAUGH ....

Driving rain and wind, temp may say 50 but feels like high 30's.

I agree, favors better rushing team, we should see a ground assualt out of SMU.

Agree bad start by Jennings, any good offensive minded coach which SMU's coach certainly is, knew the forecast a few days in advance and had these guys preparing with slick and wet balls....hopefully they did but Jennings already with an early fumble, frustrating, he should have protected that one...

For a RF Jennings looked very poised at times and clutch under pressure.

He sure does and much better at stretching pocket than stone who would just sit back and fling it. He might not have done as well in these conditions.

But I’m watching so many guys esp on SMU with poor fundamentals. Missing assignments on defense, alignment looks ok but so much arm tackling and not wrapping up; frustrating to watch lol

I don’t have the advantage of knowing what being in a huddle must feel like and just the general football player knowledge, but I do enjoy reading yours! Brings ALOT more insight for a woman.

Good story. I’ve coached hs football in Florida for 20 years (DL coach) and rain seems to create turnovers, muffed punts, short field, etc.

I typically go overs on bad weather conditions.
Also, I’ve met Paul Pasquoloni at a coaching clinic and he’s a super nice guy. Spent time with us separately and went through some defensive front stuff. Really cool dude. Our head coach was great friends with him.

Any idea the bowl record thus far? And do you feel better with the later games because they are after Christmas and bigger schools?
